News from the Lace World
Our last meeting for 2016 will be December 14th at the Gillie Center. They are on hiatus for their general cleaning of the Center. We will reconvene on January 4th, 2017. Happy Holidays and see you next year!
We will skip Wednesday, November 23rd at the Gillie....many members will be busy with Thanksgiving preparations and we opted to not meet. We will reconvene the following week on November 30th.
Had a great time yesterday at the Columbus International Festival. Martha (4 years old) helped us show how easy Bobbin Lace can be! We'll be there again today from 12-6 (in the Celeste Center at the State Fairgrounds).
We'll be demonstrating both days at the Columbus International Festival. The event is being held November 12th and 13th in the Celeste Center at the State Fairgrounds. Be sure to stop by and see us!
The Gillie Center will be closed this week for their periodic cleaning.....so no Bobbin Lace this week (8/31/16).
We will reconvene on 9/7/16 at 9 AM.
We will be at the Ohio State Fair the next 10 days or so....demonstrating from 10-2 in Cardinal Hall at the north end of the fairgrounds.
Another opportunity to see Bobbin Lace demonstrated is happening at the Ohio History Center this Saturday (6/25/16) from 12-3. Join us if you have the chance....you can even try your hand at making lace!
The Gillie Center is scheduled for one of their building cleanings this week...so there will be no Lace class on June 8th. We will reconvene on June 15th at 9AM.
Another demonstration is scheduled at the Ohio History Center this Saturday (5/21/16)....stop by and try your hand at Bobbin Lace if you have a chance!
The Ohio State Fair is right around the corner. If anyone wants to participate in the Creative Arts division, we're happy to assist in getting any Bobbin Lace to the Fair. The application forms are due by June 20th, with the lace pieces being delivered to the Fair sometime in late July. Let us know if you have any questions and think about entering something this year at the Fair!
The LOCO group will be demonstrating at Worthington Mall this Saturday (3/5/16) from 9 to 12. Stop by if you're in the area!
There's been a correction in the 2016 Convention info...open registration has been pushed back to February 22nd due to the Bulletin being mailed late. We should be receiving it anytime.

The IOLI Convention information should be arriving in the mail shortly. If you can't wait, class info is available on the IOLI website (under the Convention tab) for your perusal.
Tomorrow we are demonstrating at the Columbus Museum of Art with Craftin ' Outlaws! The event runs from 10-5. Admission to the Museum is free on Sundays so you should come on out!
